I have no formal Biblical training. Everything that I have learned about God has been from simply studying the Bible and conversing with other believers or reading commentary from Biblical scholars.
My education and training is in engineering which has influenced my perspective toward the Bible. Engineers are taught to trouble shoot their designs with a lot of scrutiny to discover any flaws before the product goes to production. I suppose I study the Bible with the same scrutiny, and that has compelled me to approach the Bible from different perspectives rather than simply reading with a common understanding of the meaning.
I have been a Christian for 44 years and I have walked through many trials in this life. The one thing that has been consistent is that I have found God to be faithful to every promise made in His word. He has met all of my needs when I couldn't see a way forward. He has continually loved me and been gracious to me when I have strayed from the path of righteousness. In the past 44 years there has never been a time when I ever felt abandoned by Him, and I know that He is continually with me to guide and protect me.
